Composer Notes:
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." This quote, from John 14:6, captures the nostalgia and inspiration that I felt while composing Iter Itineris. This new text, which is comprised of various statements found in multiple liturgical texts, portrays the journey as well as the trials in which the soul undergoes before reaching eternal rest. Although life can have its hardships, one must remember to enjoy all the intricacies that it has to offer. All pain and happiness, eventually, comes to an end. Enjoy life to the fullest and give thanks. This composition was written for Dr. Alan Rieck, conductor of the Women's Concert Chorale of the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. Also, special thank you to Matt Wanner, Mike Moore and Jody Moore.
